The challenge
Software licences are issued by serial number, but invoices in Tally cite those serials inconsistently - sometimes spelled out in a continuation line beneath the invoice, sometimes represented only as a quantity. Revenue leaked quietly wherever a licence was issued and never billed, and finding those cases meant auditing serial by serial.
What we built
Our tool reads the licence master alongside the Tally invoice register, matches every serial explicitly cited on an invoice, and then - for invoices whose quantity exceeds the serials actually listed - allocates the remaining quantity to the master by customer name using fuzzy matching, so spelling variations between the two systems do not break the link. Whatever remains unmatched in the master is genuinely pending, and the output separates real customers needing action from unissued licence slots that are simply spare stock. Un-invoiced licences now surface in a single pass.
The result
Before: serial-by-serial audit. Now: single pass.
