Case study · Reconciliation (GST, Bank & Receipts)

Student Excess Refund Processing

Excess fee refunds computed for every student, with remitter bank details pulled automatically into an upload-ready payout file.

The challenge

Identifying students eligible for fee refunds and preparing the bank payout data meant cross-referencing a large IT data file against dozens of remitter-detail files.

What we built

Our tool computes the excess refund for every student using the department's formula, then automatically pulls each student's remitter name, account number and IFSC from the bank files by candidate number. The refund payout file is generated in one pass, accurate and bank-upload ready.

The result

Before: cross-referencing dozens of files. Now: one pass.
