The challenge
Bank transaction alert emails arrived in a mailbox nobody actively watched, which meant unexpected debits could sit unnoticed for days.
What we built
A scheduled script now scans only the unread alerts from the bank, posts each one into the Google Chat space where the finance team already works, and marks the mail read so the same transaction is never posted twice - even when the mail thread resurfaces in the inbox because a new alert arrived on it. Money movement becomes visible to the whole team, in the tool they are already in, within minutes of it happening.
The result
Before: unnoticed for days. Now: visible within minutes.
