QR-Based Order Booking and Billing App

QR-code mobile ordering and multi-mode billing for a 5,000-visitor sale event, backed by Google Sheets.

The challenge

At a one-day sale event with over 1,000 sample items and around 5,000 visitors, customers used to write item codes on paper and the cashier took 10-15 minutes per bill.

What we built

We delivered a mobile web app backed by Google Sheets: visitors scan a QR code, enter their mobile number and item codes, see prices and a live total; at the counter, the cashier pulls up the order by mobile number and records payment across coupon, cash and online modes. A follow-up version added per-item delivery marking and was optimised for the venue's patchy internet. Billing dropped to seconds per customer and the event handled far higher throughput.

The result

Before: 10-15 minutes per bill. Now: seconds per customer.
