Multi-Excel Daily Receipt Consolidation

Eleven sheets across five Excel files merged into one daily report via a mapping workbook the client edits.

The challenge

The daily raw-material receipt report meant copying data from 11 sheets across 5 Excel files, each with a different column structure - over an hour of work every day.

What we built

We built a mapping-driven consolidator: a simple mapping workbook (which the client edits themselves) defines where each output column comes from, the month to report on, and the source files. The tool merges everything into one formatted, date-sorted report in seconds. The mapping approach means new files or layout changes need no programming at all.

The result

Before: over an hour every day. Now: seconds.
